1. How white will my teeth go at the end of the treatment?

This depends on the mineral content contained within your teeth and results can therefore vary between individuals. Mineral content depletes with age and mineral content can also be affected by (antibiotics which you may have taken as a child) or fluorosis, such as blotches or spots may have less dramatic whitening results.

Generally speaking, we will get your teeth to as white as they were when you were a teenager (sometimes whiter). Some people prefer not to have this level of whiteness, and should request prior to a procedure not to have their teeth whitened too dramatically.

With our  system will get your teeth to as white as they will naturally go (antibiotic or fluorosis damage see less dramatic results).

2. How soon will I see results?

After the one hour session yoo will see results.  There is no waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks to see the results. As soon as you are finished with your laser teeth whitening treatment, you will look in the mirror (usually with great surprise). If we do not whiten your teeth a minimum of 4 shades, you will not be charged for the procedure.

3. Is the treatment painful?

This is a pain free procedure non evasive, the worse you can feel is a little bit of coldness.  All our gels have full toxicology and safety reports and are fully EU compliant, as well as the machines full CE approved and filter out all UV and IR light so works on a cold blue light system so no drying out of the teeth which may also cause sensitivity issue, like some heat lamps on the market today.

4. Are the results permanent?

Results on average last for 6 to 12 months and sometimes longer. results vary with every customer.  With proper aftercare such as kits etc you can keep your beautiful smile for longer.. Teeth will always stain due to lifestyle (your own oral hygiene), wear and tear and aging. However once you use a take home kit your teeth should remain at their maximum with no fad back issues occurring.  You can also get refill gels of us or top up procedures whenever you wish to also maintain your beautiful white smile.

5. Is the process harmful to teeth?

No! The effect on teeth is no different to the effect from commonly ingested foods or regular dental procedures. if anything the machine kills 500 to 600 bacteria in the gums.

6. Will the gel whiten crowns, veneers or false teeth?

The teeth whitening process will only remove intrinsic staining from natural teeth. However, the gel will help remove all extrinsic staining from teeth, including false teeth. This means that your false teeth will be ‘cleaned’ back to their original colour.

If you are planning to have a crown, bridge, filling or false tooth, it is recommended that you first have your teeth whitened. Your dentist will then be able to match the shade of the false tooth to your new colour.

7. Should I have a clean and polish before my whitening.

Only if you have a lot of build up of plaque on the teeth.  We are not concerned about the back of the teeth only the front.  We do offer a clean and polish if needs be for 60 euro.

8. Is teeth whitening classified as dentistry?

In 2012 31st October 1 EU law was changed to class teeth whitening as a cosmetic procedure, meaning that a qualified technician can carry out the treatment. This is why you may see many beauty salons offering the service at very low prices, often with far inferior products.

At The Whitening Clinic all procedures are carried out by a fully qualified Dentist or Dental Nurse/Dental technician, making sure we provide all our customers with the most professional service possible. With The best class 1 A medical device to get the best results.

9. Do many people whiten their teeth?

Yes, more than you would imagine. A bright, sparkling smile can make a very big difference to a person’s confidence and self esteem. Studies have shown that people with whiter teeth smile more readily and tend to make more eye contact whilst engaged in conversation.

Typically, people will not immediately note that your teeth have been whitened, but they will think to themselves that you are looking very healthy, without putting their finger on why this is the case.

10. How long does the treatment take?

Treatment takes one hour including same day consultation.  You are usually in and out of the clinic in 1 hr and 15mins.

11. What is the white Diet?

After the procedure you have to keep your food as plain as possible i.e chicken, fish apples, bananas & bread.  Anything that can stain a white piece of paper can stain you teeth. This is only for 24 hours..  You will be given aftercare notes on this and everything will be explained in your consultation.

Can I pay off my finance option early?

What if the treatment does not give me the results I was promised in the time expected?

If the results at the end of the treatment are different to those on your treatment plan then we will strive to ensure that you get the best results possible by sending out additional aligners at no extra cost to you. However, we will not be able to refund you on your initial purchase.

Does it hurt to wear my aligners?

There may be some discomfort when you start to wear your aligners at first and change to the next set. Our aligners are made to fit the exact mould of your mouth, so it may take a few days to get used to them, however you’ll hardly notice them at all once you get used to this new sensation.

Any minor discomfort means your aligners are working to straighten your teeth in your perfect smile.

How often should I wear my aligners?

You need to wear them day and night – for a minimum of 22 hours per day, as directed by your prescribed treatment plan. Remove them only when you need to eat or drink any liquids other than water. We also advise that you remove your aligners when you are smoking.

I am currently wearing braces. Can I make the switch to Your CLEAR BRACES?

Yes, you can. No matter the reason, if you are unhappy with your current brace system, we will be able to help. To get started you can simply order your home evaluation kit or go for a scan in one of of our clinics.

Once the treatment is complete is a retainer necessary?

A retainer is a big part of the post aligner treatment as it works to maintain the smile we’ve worked hard to create over the past 20 weeks by holding the teeth in place. Before the treatment is complete we advise you to contact us in advance to order your retainer. We advise that you wear it for 6 months at a rate similar to that of the aligners. After the 6 months all that will be required will be for you to wear it at night while you sleep.

I wasn’t eligible for treatment when I purchased my evaluation. I’ve since fixed the issues regarding my cavities/wisdom teeth. Am I eligible for treatment now?

If you would like to contact our customer care team in relation to this they will be able to assess if you are now suitable.

Are there restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?

There are no restrictions on what you can eat or drink. However, it is advised that you take out the aligners while eating and drinking. This also makes it simple to clean your teeth after each meal to maintain good oral hygiene, before re-inserting your aligners.

Can I smoke while wearing the aligners?

Smoking, along with vaping or e-cigarettes, is discouraged while wearing aligners because your aligners may become stained or discoloured.

Should I be on any medication while going through my treatment?

Our aligners are designed to work despite of any medication you may be taking during your treatment, however chronic usage of anti-inflammatory medications, aspirin, estrogens, or calcitonin may slow or limit tooth movement.

Can I go through treatment while I am pregnant?

In cases such as these we would strongly recommend consulting with a doctor or dentist in order to make sure that you are suitable for treatment.
